Key talismans are very potent and should be used whenever there is a new door/aspect of life that is to be unlocked. For example to find a new job, or open doors for you in the current one, or more directly when trying to find a new/better place to live.

Take a small metal key and place it before you on your alter, and either write the name of the person you wish to benefit on a piece of paper that is beneath the key or concentrate upon the image of them in your mind while you say the incantation necessary.

Here are two sample incantations that I had written in one of my notebooks.

To find work:

Key, key, you are the power through the Lord and of the Lady, here in me, and here I say,
Give this [man/woman] [name] the employment he/she desires.
Open the door of good for them
Open the door of their desire
Open the door,
Let it beopen,
Let them enter on that work which satisfies their need and will,
Fulfill and bless all of their days
This is your message; this is your aim,
This is your power which now begins.

To find housing:

Key, key, you are the power through the Lord and of the Lady, here in me, and here I say,
Give this [man/woman] [name] the dwelling place of their desire,
A place of blessing, comfort, ease and safety, warm with human good,
And make this place in all ways home to all their needs
This is your message; this is your aim,
This is your power which now begins

You may chose to light a candle and leave the key before it until the candle burns down, select whichever sort you feel is best. The aim of the burning candle is to channel and reinforce the message and potency of the talisman.
To also amplify the energies you can place the key on a reflective surface to reflect the light back through from the other side. The key should be worn by the person it was enchanted for as a pendant either on a thong or a silver colored chain underneath their clothing.
Provided the subject is constantly seeking that which the key was enchanted for things should start to come together in 3-5 weeks, according to my notes.

Lately I’ve been torn about my “Book of Shadows”. I had started to make another one in a different notebook a few months ago, because I couldn’t find my original. In the move I was able to find the original, but then I was going to transfer from one book to another and get rid of this one. A friend pointed out to me that the larger book looked a lot nicer, and gave me the inspiration to transfer a doodle I had started to the front cover like this:

I had drawn the image on a page of the second smaller book, and enlarged and colored it on this one. Doing so helped me with my re-dedication of the book, and cemented that I will keep up with it.

Some times I think that I should just scrap the hand written book all together and stick to doing things digitally; but it’s nice to have the hand written copy, and there’s a lot of power in this book. It would be a shame to get rid of it. While in some ways portions of it are out of date because I started that book when I was still in high school; it’s helpful to see the evolution of my practice of magic and there’s still wisdom in there to be shaped and learned from even if things aren’t followed quite to the letter.

In case you’re curious the dedication on the front reads.

I cleanse thee and consecrate thee in the name and use for magickal workings to be performed in the name of what is right for this coven and this coven alone. In the name of the great and powerful ancient ones who forever guide the Celtic Way.

I also have “The Witches Rune” inscribed on the inside cover. I’ll write that out at a later date. It’s gotten to noon and we have an appointment to get a vehicle fixed.

I hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Part of the regimen that I’m starting to help improve everything for me health-wise is to exercise, even if I’m not using exercise equipment. I mean, I had access to a multi-thousand dollar gymnasium when we were at the apartment complex and I used it two maybe three times at the most. I got more fun out of using DDR with the playstation 2 and that I could use without even leaving the house.

You can find ways to exercise no matter what you’re doing, and being physically fit helps you feel better which in turn helps your outlook and can lead to greater spiritual discoveries, which is what I’m going for. I can run around the yard with my son experiencing our natural environment, showing him different nooks and crannies to explore and making up stories about our adventures to the land of sand and down the nature trail. All which help us both out. It gets him outside and burns off his energy, helps me to exercise, and we both exercise our imaginations as well, and who knows one of these days we may find some nature spirits, once they’re sure that we’re not invaders and are really friendly!

Before we disconnect everything I wanted to make sure and wish everyone a happy holidays. Tomorrow is Yule which is my celebration. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate it than a fresh start in a new home, it’s just what the doctor ordered!

I want to express my thanks to Heidi from our local State Farm office, and to Ryan from Vangie Berry realty who really came together and made this possible. We couldn’t have done it without them.

Here’s a little banner I made to express my wishes to everyone including them:

I hope that everyone who reads this blog and everyone who happens across it has a safe holiday season, and that they get what they wish for whether it be a new house (!), volcom clothing, candy, good health, happiness, to spend time with their friends and families or candy. It’s so good you have to say it twice!

But seriously, stay safe everyone! Be loved! Be blessed! I’ll be writing again after Yule and after things are settled down for us.

I often use wine in rituals, and am at the disadvantage of not having a family member who makes it any more, so when Gold Medal Wine offered that I could sample some wine from their wine of the month club I was very excited.

I received two bottles of wine from them, a white chardonnay and a red zinfandel. They also sent me a gift card and a newsletter. I was expecting just to get wine, but it came specially wrapped and in a Styrofoam container to keep them safe, when we ordered wine for my mother-in-law from a different place earlier in the year it was packed in peanuts nowhere near as securely as these.

After we received the wine I chilled it in the fridge for a day before we tried some of it. My husband and I opted to try the red first. The red was Bradford Mountain Grist Vineyard Zinfandel made in 2004. It said that it was aged 12 months, and is apparently a flavor that won several medals at competitions in San Francisco and at an international competition as well. I really liked the flavor which was fruity and spicy, although my husband decided after we had the Chardonnay that he liked the white better.

The Chardonnay was a 2005 Belvedere Russian River Valley Chardonnay, from Sonoma County. I liked the aroma of the wine, but wasn’t as keen on that one, probably because it’s more of a pear, lemon, apple and flavor, and I’m not a big fan of pear.

I need to get my banners up, but I’m participating in NaBloPoMo. You can find my NaBloPoMo page here. I felt it would be a good way to encourage and remind me to keep up with regular content here. Sometimes the content gets neglected in favor of my other blogs, and this gets reserved only for announcements and posts that I do from time to time when people ask me questions.

So, here I will be posting about other things, as well as the contests, and hopefully doing a post a day, at least as well as the posts per day on my other sites.

I will speak a little bit now about the ritual I did last night.
I work with a loose structural idea when I’m doing things like that, and I’m gratified that this ritual appears to have gone incredibly well. I finished right before midnight, having started things at ten p.m. and took some time afterwards to wind down because I was still wired, despite getting to sleep at some time after 1 a.m. and getting up at just before 7 a.m. I feel really great.

I did a dedication of my new tarot cards, and also a crystal ball which I received, swept all the negativity that has potentially built up in our house out, and cleansed and protected each room, and everyone who comes in and uses any room as well as those who live here.

I also did a bit of a re-dedication of myself and my purpose, acknowledging that I have things that I need to work on the main part being that I can’t cling to status quo. Sometimes I have this…fear of change. I like to have routines and that can be pretty detrimental especially with a small child who is the epitome of chaos. So, we’ll work on that for this next year.

I’ve been looking around for a bit for a supply store given we have nowhere locally that really sells things that I need for ritual or to stock up on, other than candles. I can get plenty of candles as long as they’re not black, but anything else not so much.

A friend mentioned to me when I was leaving the library that she got catalogs from AzureGreen and so I looked them up, but at the time didn’t get anything because we didn’t have the extra cash.

This past week I took it upon myself to actually browse the online store they have and ordered some things, mostly herbs and a pestle and mortar.

I know some people might frown upon ordering herbs from a store rather than growing them, but living in an apartment complex and having a child under the age of two even a small box garden isn’t feasible so you do what you must.

I’m impressed with the store, less than an hour after I had placed the order they called me to verify things and the next day I got confirmation that the order was shipped. I’m getting a package sent to me to see if I want to set up as a wholesaler and they’ll be calling me a week or so after they get confirmation that the order shipped to go over any questions I might have about that which is cool. They were one of the places I had wondered about going with as a supplier for the setting up of the store I want to do, but given the state of things with the friends that we were going to set up shop with that plan is on hold for a little while, but I at least am making contacts and setting up the relationships that I need to with regards that part.

Real estate is the big issue with the store. We live in Florida and the real estate market isn’t that good, plus I’m really not sure how much of a market there is for pagan supplies in our area. We had a store in a strip mall near here when I was in college but one semester I went to school and came back and they were gone…
