What is Tarot?
Tarot reading is a divination art which has it’s roots in fifteenth century Italy. While a tarot deck bears some similarity to a deck of playing cards, it contains 54 minor arcana (1-10, page/princess, knight/prince, queen, king) and the 22 major arcana cards which have no playing card deck equivalent and contain images such as the priest or hierophant, the high priestess, justice, the wheel of fortune and the moon.

There are a variety of different spreads and layouts which readers can use to interpret the cards, but whichever deck and method is used the readers use these picture cards as a divining tool to hone in on potential future events for the person who request their readings, and advise them on courses of action they might or might not ought to take.

The primary “general” reading spread that I and many readers use is called the Celtic Cross.

The cards above are laid out for a Celtic Cross reading. The central cards focus on the questioner’s current situation, and then the cards around are pulled to look into the recent past and near future, circumstances affecting the situation in question. Then the four cards up along the side look into things on the questioner’s mind, how they’re affecting people around them, how those people are affecting them, and then a potential outcome.

The thing to remember when you’re looking at a tarot reading is that your circumstances are always changing. The cards will show me, or any other reader, an outcome based on a set of events which are going along at that current moment, any actions that are being taken or are taken after can affect and change that outcome. Tarot is all about being proactive.

If you find out that there’s going to be romance in your future and the reader is lucky enough to get an image of the person and how they might look, that doesn’t mean you should sit around waiting for them to fall through your ceiling. You have to get out there and mingle.

Q: Do you do free readings?
I’ve recently decided to offer a free sample reading. It’s the three card spread. Provided that the system is not abused it will remain in the Tarot Store as an option.
If you’d like a more extensive reading and are strapped for cash don’t hesitate to email me and ask about trades. In the past I’ve done readings in exchange for candles, gem stones, food, artwork, massages and other readings.

Q: What information do you need so you can do a reading?
1. If the reading is to be emailed, posted to your LJ or be done by messenger or phone.

  • Your email address, or your messenger handle or phone number
  • the time you wish to get in touch, bear in mind I’m in the Eastern time zone (So, when it’s 9 p.m. here it’s only 6 p.m. in California, for example)

2. Your age, date of birth, and zodiac sign.
3. If you have any specific questions you wish to address, a subject/area of focus or just want a general life reading.

    Hello!

    I have gone to a psychic in the Villages but, was also looking for someone else. I would like to compare and see what things come back the same, what things are different.

    Also, I’m not sure I understand how to pay or about the different readings. I woud like to know generally how my life is going, marriage, whether we’ll have more children but, the big question of the day is whether we should be buying the house we are looking in to. If you could, please e-mail me back at the above address and copy (aol email address deleted to prevent spam) as I’m not sure if I’ll have trouble getting it through my work e-mail. I am local so if its better to meet with you, that is fine too, I just need to know how long I will need to be out of the office.

    Oh, the other thing is that I am really trying to develop spiritually…I’m not sure what direction to go in regards to that. I’m reading lots of books and seeing where that takes me.
