I was looking for words to add to my nightly prayers about us finding a place to live as I need something potent. We’re having some bumps with the place we put an offer in on, and are going to look at a few more places tomorrow.
I found this:
Spell for finding a new house
A house of my own
a house to be free
a house that loves me
and is perfect for me
a perfect house
to rest and to play
where my heart is at home
is now coming my way.
My own home to live,
to love and grow
tis is my will, now make it so!
It’s from Magic Spells and Potions. I used to have another one in my Book of Shadows but I can’t find it.
I’m looking forward to us finding a place, because I’d like to hold on to the white wine we have until a celebratory meal, but maybe it’ll come into use for the ritual to help us get a place instead and we’ll have champagne for our congratulations instead.

With everything we have going on we have a huge amount of different insurances that we have to work out, about the only one we don’t have to bother about right now is travel insurance. We have to get house insurance and even a home warranty, and change everything with our life and car insurances as well. Okay, so I think the health insurance is going to be okay aside from the fact that it rolls over right around the time we have scheduled for closing.
We still haven’t heard anything. Here’s hoping that we’ll hear something soon.

There are quite a few times lately that I miss having a notebook computer. I think part of it is just the convenience factor. I used to be able to sit on the couch with my computer in my lap and work with people, or if the guys were all playing video games at our friends house I could open the computer and work wirelessly while they were playing, doing site design, rearranging things, talking to people, researching articles, doing readings.
Now that we have a desktop while it was a good decision financially sometimes I feel like we made the wrong one and should have gone a little bit higher and bought another notebook because it would have been portable and I could have worked while we were out still.
Then again we carry enough things around with us when we go out when we bring my son with us, because of all the diapers, wipes and food that we bring, so…perhaps it was right after all and I’m just jealous because all our friends are getting laptops when they get computers.

We have some prospects for a place to move. I want to be sure that first thing tomorrow morning I call the city department for the places that we’re looking at and find out what their policies are on businesses operating out of a residence.
One of them I already know because it’s within this self-same city that we’re in now, but the other, not so sure. I’m hoping it’s a clear, but you have to work with what you get. The most important thing for us right now is that we have a place to live. If that place helps my husband’s job then that’s all the better. Things with me can follow on once we’ve sorted out our mortgage a bit and can afford another loan, if they have to.

We’ve had more opportunity lately to confirm that my son can apparently touch the spirit world. It’s once again interesting and yet also a teensy bit creepy. We took him to my husband’s place of employment where some of the co-workers have been reporting close encounters, to see if he would have any reaction.
In a certain corridor where I felt a presence moving up and down the munchkin started smiling and waving “Bye!” he also zoned in on an other area where the co-workers had said that they’d encountered some things. He would occasionally follow movement with his eyes and try to reach out to nothing.
My husband who hasn’t been around when the munchkin’s witnessed ghosts before was a little creeped out. He’s used to it with me, but with the munchkin it’s different because of the innocence.

There’s a lot of debate about why there might be ghosts. I don’t think anyone is going to ever know that answer for sure, but I hold to the belief that there are different sorts of spirits that come about through different sets of circumstances.
There’s the traumatic death spirit. Say you’re involved in a semi truck accident, or murdered, or fall down the stairs or something like that. That’s a very violent death and could cause leave some unresolved issues that will have you sticking around.
Other spirits I believe stay around because they feel an obligation, like my grandfather, who likes to watch out for us, offer advice and keep the munchkin company while he sleeps.
I think there are others who don’t realize that they’ve died, and may stay around because they missed the way to cross over, and in many cases they repeat what they’ve been doing in life over and over.
